2015 is going to be the year of wearables and CES 2015 will have lots of new smartwatches and other wearables. Alcatel has already announced their first smartwatch in the OneTouch series and it will be called just “Watch”. The watch sports a circular face and can be connected to the Android smartphones for various tasks.
Alcatel’s OneTouch Watch will have similar features like the existing smartwatches and can do tasks like remote music playback control, photo taking, notification checking and more.
Apart from these features, Alcatel promises “smart pricing” for the watch, so we can expect an affordable watch from the company.
From the press release:
Offering the WATCH at a fraction of the cost of competitors, the smartphone brand has implemented its compact design expertise to offer a series of fine finishing that meet the demands of everyone looking for the same look and feel as a traditional watch.
As of now we do not have any info on the hardware powering the OneTouch Watch, but expect full details at the CES 2015 where Alcatel will be showcasing this watch. The watch will not be running Android Wear, instead it would be a custom OS developed by the company. Stay tuned for more updates from CES 2015.
