When Apple was talking about all the features which we geeks were consuming last night, and all we focused on how smart it is, Apple clearly sent out one message —They Want to Sell a Watch First— with their Two Sizes, Three Designs and Multiple Straps offering. Replacing your existing watch is one of the biggest challenge for anybody and unless its beautiful enough, nobody can do it.
It’s for Everybody:
Most of the companies who have announced a smartwatch till now, never looked beyond one style and one form factor, while Apple came up with a product that can appeal to everybody. Apple has two different sizes – one for men and other for women, indicating that they are here for everybody. The same thing happens when it comes to Fashion, when anything new comes, it comes for both the sexes, may be in different form but the idea is same.
It’s for Every Occasion:
A casual watch, a sports watch and then the Edition watches. Most of us have multiple watches for different occasions. When we go out for sports, a trendy look watch with digital clock looks better while a traditional watch fits in your business. The edition watches would be definitely expensive but anybody who wants a gold touch is not left behind.
- Stainless Steel or Space Black version,
- Silver or Space Gray Aluminum,
- 18-Karat Yellow Gold / Rose Gold
It’s about Style:
A leather strap or a metal chain strap? Not only the watch dial makes a lot of difference, the strap can attract eye balls as well. This is the reason why apple came up with multiple options of straps–Link Bracelet, Sport Band, Leather Loop, Classic Buckle, Modern Buckle and Milanese Loop–which can be used on any of the watches. They also come in variations so here is the list:
- Sport Band (White/Blue/Green/Pink/Black Fluoroelastomer)
- Classic Buckle(Midnight Blue/Black Leather)
- Stainless Steel Buckle
- Milanese Loop
- Leather Loop ( Blue/Light Brown/Stone)
- Modern Buckle ( Midnight Blue /Soft Pink/Brown/Rose Gray/Bright Red/ Leather)
- Link Bracelet ( Space Black / Stainless Steel)
But not everyone is impressed
As Reuters reported, there are quite a lot of people who feel that the new Apple Watch falls short of their expectations. Roseanne Morrison, fashion director for The Doneger Group, says “It’s not pretty, and very future techno as opposed to feminine sexy”. There are many who don’t wear a watch, and for them, the Apple Watch doesn’t look compelling enough to take a place on their wrists.
All in all, the Apple Watch hasn’t proved to be that one wearable device which can impress most people with its looks and design. It surely looks better than some of the existing offerings, but hasn’t managed to redefine the fashionable aspect for wearables.
