A week back ASUS had hinted about a possible smartwatch launch at IFA 2014 in Berlin and now the company has confirmed it by showing a teaser of how the upcoming watch would look like. The new image was uploaded on ASUS page on Facebook. This image although confirms the smartwatch, but does not reveal any specifications or features included in it.
We are expecting the smartwatch to be powered by Android wear similar to the ones from LG and Samsung.
Some of rumors are also claimed that the Asus smartwatch will be the cheapest Android Wear watch, with a target price between $99 and $149. But Asus CEO, Jon Shih had said that the Asus smartwatch will be company’s ‘hero product’ and will come with a range of impressive features.
With LG already planning to launch G Watch 2 and Motorola launching Moto 360, the competition in smartwatch is getting stiffer. IFA is definitely going to be exciting for wearables.
You can watch the event live from ASUS Facebook page here. It starts at Wednesday, Sept. 3rd, 2014 12:30 p.m. (10:30 a.m. GMT).
