Carl Zeiss’s Builds A $99 Virtual Reality Headset VR One; Works with Any iOS or Android Phone

A big fan of Virtual Reality but owning a VR headeset is a costly affair? Worry not, Carl Zeiss, the company who have mastered themselves in making lenses (even the Lumia 1020 and 808) has build A $99 Virtual Reality Headset which everybody can afford.

Carl Zeiss VR Headset

While that looks like “Wall-E”, lead character from the movie with the same name, these VR headset support both Android and iOS with a screen size between 4.7″-5.2″ (Sorry iPhone Plus)

That said, its interesting to see Carl Zeiss moving into this market. What it seems they are doing is disrupting the market where one has to pay steep price for a full headset or have an expensive smartphone. This changes it.

Those who are worried about this as a platform, it’s completely open. The SDK is open, the kind of phones that can be used is known and its coming in December. That gives a clear idea that its going to be depending a lot on developer community to grow it.IMO, the first thing these guys need, is a game.

Lets see ow it turns out to be, we will be keeping our eyes on it!
