Hyundai Android Wear App will Let You Start Your Car Over Voice

If you are lucky enough to own a Hyundai car with Blue Link technology, you will be able to start, lock and find your car right from your Android wear powered smartwatch.  The application will be revealed in CES 2015.

The app will work with their first and second generation of Blue Link tech enabled cars which works when the app is connected over Bluetooth to and Android Smartphone.

“Connecting to your car through a smartwatch and voice recognition was previously something seen only in science fiction movies. Now, we can provide this capability to owners of Hyundai vehicles equipped with Blue Link.”

Using this app, the Hyundai owners can remote start, lock and unlock doors as well as find their car in a crowded parking lot. This works over voice commands which can be activated very easily.

Here is the list of operations it supports:

  • Remote Engine Start
  • Remote Engine Stop (Only available when vehicle is in remote engine start mode)
  • Remote Door Lock / Unlock
  • Remote Flash Lights / Honk Horn
  • Car Finder
  • Call Roadside
  • Call Blue Link

The only drawback is that the voice commands are processed online and if you do not have a stable internet connection, it will not work. Hopefully in up coming update, we get to see manual operations as well.

CES 2015 is going to be huge in terms of Wearables, and its good to see companies coming up with practical applications which will push the wear market even further.
