Couple of months back Samsung had announced their new smartwatch, the Gear S with Tizen based wearable platform and support for 3G and voice calls. Today, the company said that the Tizen-powered smart watch will include Opera Mini, a popular alternative browser available across multiple platforms. Opera Mini is also known for its data compression technology to reduce the amount of data required to open pages.
The browser can shrink web pages down to as little as 10 percent, resulting in faster and efficient browsing.
Users who will be using the Gear S will have to use the browser on the 2 inch display. The browser will feature Private browsing, double-tap with a finger to zoom or pinch to zoom. Going forward and back can be done with the swipe of finger.
The browser will be available for download when the watch hits the stores. In case you don’t know, Samsung Gear S comes with a 2-inch (360 x 480 pixels) curved Super AMOLED display and has a 1Ghz Dual core processor with 512MB RAM. There is also 4GB internal storage. One of the main features of the device is that it supports 3G via SIM card and is able to make calls independently.
