Polar is a company which specializes in GPS exercise watches, activity trackers, and even a GPS watch-slash-activity tracker. The company has now announced their latest wearable device, the M400 which is an activity tracking GPS watch which looks good and is also priced lower than the V800. It can track display your speed while running and it also comes with option to have customized weekly training targets, race time estimators, improvement tracking, and even navigation back to your starting point.
It is basically a 24/7 activity tracker that monitors your steps, calories burned, and also the quality of your sleep.
Apart from being an activity tracker, the watch also looks good. Polar claims it will get 9 hours of battery life in GPS tracking mode (when you’re on a run), and up to 24 days of straight up activity monitoring which is really impressive. Polar M400 is water-resistant and combines the best of GPS and 24/7 activity tracking with advanced sports technology using Bluetooth Smart.
The watch does not come with a built in heart rate sensor, but you can attach external HRM with the watch. Polar’s mobile app is compatible only with iOS, but you can transfer the data to PC (Mac and Windows) using a USB cable. The watch also has a high resolution display (128 x 128) and can display text in 15 languages.
The device will be available by the end of October for $199.95 ($249.95 w/ HR sensor).
