Samsung is getting aggressive with their own OS Tizen. They recently announced Tizen powered phone to compete directly with Android, and now according to a post on SamMobile, Samsung is working on a Tizen Powered Round Smartwatch which will make it debut in MWC 2015, which is just less then 2 months now.
The new smartwatch is codenamed “Orbis,”(Product number SM-R720) which has a mechanical dial ring that can provide users a way to interact with the watch. This ring may provide various functions like Zoom, Show more apps from the app drawer, even control music and so on. Recently HP showcased a smartwatch which was powered by webOS.
It seems that even though did lay a foundation for OEMs for building a wearable, they are taking their own path and experimenting with what they have in hand. This means only thing–fragmentation–which will result in diverse ecosystem. As of now Gear Live is the only smartwatch from Samsung powered by Android Wear.
