Back in June, we covered a new watch called Activité which is a beautiful analog watch with the classic round watch face, but with a fitness tracker hidden inside. Although this is not a smartwatch, it isn’t a normal watch either and it comes with an activity tracker embedded inside and is Swiss made. Activité comes with an accelerometer can track both steps and sleep, and connects via Bluetooth LE to your phone (iPhone-only for now) to sync with Withings’ apps and other devices. It can also work as a smart alarm clock, gently vibrating to wake you up when you’re at the lightest point in your sleep cycle.
The watch is now available for pre-order for $450.
This Swiss designed stainless-steel watch comes with sapphire glass, with a battery life of one year, that’s something never heard of in the smartwatch space. Also, it’s waterproof to 5atm, or 50 meters, so it’s suitable for swimming. It can even change time zones automatically. It is a premium watch, but does not have any features of smartwatch including notifications.
At $450 the Activité is expensive than most smartwatches available today including LG G Watch R ($300), Moto 360 and also the ASUS ZenWatch.
The watch is available in two colors and you can pre-order from the official website. The site also mentioned general availability by end of November.
